EU Taxonomy
To achieve the EU's 2030 climate and energy goals and the objectives of the European Green Deal, it is essential to channel investments into sustainable projects and activities. Accomplishing this requires a shared understanding and clear definition of what sustainable means. This need led to the development of the EU Taxonomy, a standardised classification system designed to drive transparency and help businesses and investors identify environmentally sustainable activities, which entered into force in July 2020.
The EU Taxonomy establishes criteria to determine whether an activity significantly contributes to one or more of six environmental objectives (see image below) while ensuring it does no significant harm to other objectives.
All companies that are in scope of the CSRD, also need to report on the EU Taxonomy.
Simplifying EU Taxonomy disclosures
We help you understand and meet the requirements of disclosing in line with the EU Taxonomy. Whether you are new to the process or need support in assessing the alignment of your activities with the criteria, we provide clear guidance every step of the way. Below you see an overview of our approach.
Tailored support
Every business is different, and your approach to EU Taxonomy disclosures should reflect that. We work closely with your team to assess your operations, collect the necessary data, and map it against the criteria set out in the EU Taxonomy. Our goal is to create a disclosure process that is efficient, transparent, and that fits well into your existing reporting systems.
Turning compliance into opportunity
EU Taxonomy compliance is not just about meeting regulatory requirements — it can also be seen as a chance to showcase your leadership in sustainable business practices. We will help you leverage your EU Taxonomy-aligned disclosures to demonstrate your commitment to environmental responsibility, build trust with key stakeholders, and understand the potential benefits of increasing EU Taxonomy alignment by integrating EU Taxonomy aspects in strategic decision making.
